Adventures In Repairing DVD Scratches (Part 1)

Months ago, our copy of the Veggie Tales episode The Wonderful Wizard Of Ha's was scratched really badly. I mean, beyond repair.

(This picture doesn't do it justice. There were more scratches than that.)

Or at least, so I thought.

Saturday night, Keegan tried to watch the DVD, and though it didn't go to the menu and the end wouldn't play, it basically worked.

Then I realized that there might be some way to get rid of the scratches. I asked my dad if he knew of any, and he said that he didn't but that we could look it up on the Internet. So I did, and I found out that (among other things) you can use toothpaste to remove those annoying scratches! I tried it an hour or two ago.

I used a new tube and applied it few times.

I tried it 3 or 4 times, the last time waiting a few minutes to see if that would do anything, but all to no avail.

So I tried again, this time with another kind of toothpaste.

Again, it didn't work. It did, however, remove a few of the smaller scratches (at least I think it did).

So I looked it up on the Web again, just to make sure I was doing it the right way. Along the way, I found another method for removing scratches involving toothpaste, peanut butter, seltzer water and paper towels. I'm probably going to try it, so I'll let you know what happens.

On a side note, the VBS musical was last week, the video that I made was shown and I gave out DVDs of it, we (the VBS choir) got to lead worship in church Sunday morning, my birthday is next Monday, my friend is coming over to spend the night on Friday night and I will be working in the 2nd grade Sunday School class again this next school year!

Oh, and get this: you can use a banana to repair DVD scratches!
